I am a Wife, Mother, Successful Business Owner, Proven City Councilwoman and Community Leader!

Dear Hendersonville,
I have served this amazing community for over 20 years in my private practice, 5 years serving on City Council, and this past year as Mayor Pro Tempore. My commitment to this City, is undying. I have served alongside an amazing woman, Mayor Barbara Volk. She has a true servant’s heart, and I have learned so much from her leadership that I will carry with me as your next Mayor.
My dedicated role on City Council has allowed me to thoughtfully prepare, learn from my mistakes, and refine my skills as a leader. I will strive to maintain our high quality of life and safety. I will also fight for the protection of our valuable Western North Carolina’s natural beauty.
Working at the newly completed Fire Station One during the early moments of Hurricane Helene was one of the most humbling experiences I have ever had. Witnessing our first responders, public works, and staff sacrificing their own personal losses for the safety and security of our residents gave me a very intense sense of protection for these folks and this community. I witnessed lives saved, people fed, and neighbors praying and loving each other. I will do everything in my power to continue that love by rebuilding and moving forward together.
Since day 1, I have been strong supporter of our Public Safety and First Responders. I have advocated for continued investments in our public Infrastructure and Parks. These investments in our Water and Sewer System enabled us to be resilient after the storm when many communities went for months without clean water. I am witnessing a dream come true with the opening of The Ecusta Trail. Through my advocacy in this community, I helped create a partnership with our County, School System, and YMCA to teach Safety Around Water for free to all second graders in our county. I will work hard to see Patton Park rise from the flood damage as a beacon of recreation and indoor/outdoor activity for Henderson County. Our children and aging community deserve a leader who prioritizes their well-being. I will always be a voice for those who don’t have one.
My role as a doctor, wife, and mother in this community has taught me firsthand what our business community needs to thrive, our families need to feel safe, and our residents need to prosper.
It is my honor to be at the helm of Hendersonville as we rebuild together. Please allow me to earn your support as your next Mayor of Hendersonville. I will not let you down.
With highest regards and committed respect,
Dr. Jennifer Hensley
Hendersonville City Councilwoman and Future Mayor
